The silicone flange insert breast shields need to be cleaned after each use. It can be cleaned after 5 minutes of boiling.
During operation, Place the flange cushion into the funnel-shaped section of the flange/shield. Push in the inner part of the cushion as far as possible and make sure that it is perfectly sealed all around the rim of the flange/shield. Press in between the petals to remove any trapped air. Meanwhile, make sure that the everted edge of the insert completely covers the flange/shield. You need to keep leaning forward as much as possible during use.
